At the top of the list for Australian designers as alternatives to Camilla is Zimmermann. Whilst it can’t be disputed that they are worlds apart, they share similarities in impeccable embellishment and unique signature prints. Zimmermann’s styles are somewhat more muted compared to Camilla, and the inspiration source is also diverse. Camilla focuses on elements from global sources when creating their collection, whilst Zimmermann is primarily focused on Australia’s lifestyles and landscapes.

Another Australian fashion brand worth mentioning as an alternative to Camilla is Aje. Aje is known for its "rugged beauty, tough femininity, and effortless cool" style aesthetic. Legendary bohemian fashion brand from Byron Bay, Australia, Spell and the Gypsy can also be considered an alternative to Camilla. Different in many ways, yet similar in several ways. Both offer a boho aesthetic with resort wear collections. Both Camilla and Spell have a significant following and brand presence in the Australian high-end to mid-range fashion markets. Another similarity is their festival-ready styles, which incorporate vibrant prints and flowing silhouettes. If you are a fan of Camilla and seek a luxury, distinctive and eclectic style, Spell and the Gypsy Collective may be another option for you.

Another interesting contender as an alternative to Camilla is Christopher Esber. Next on the list of alternatives to Camilla is Albus Lumen. This brand was founded in 2015 by stylist Marina Afonina. Whilst Camilla is far from minimalist, Albus Lumen creates classic, understated designs. The similarities lie in the fact that both brands focus on premium fabrics and relaxed, timeless styles. Most of the inspiration behind this brand is a “summer-inspired look with high-quality materials.”  Expect to see fabrics like Australian Merino wool, linen, and silk. 8. Peony

Another great fashion brand out of Australia is Peony. The focus of Peony is sustainable swimwear and resortwear. Just like Camilla, Peony imagines romantic, feminine pieces with florals and ruffles. They both use sustainable, natural materials, including organic cotton, linen, hemp, and regenerated fibres. If you love Camilla’s swimwear and resort wear, give Peony a try for their swimsuits, one-pieces, bikinis, and other beachwear.

Like Camilla, DISSH is a female-founded Australian fashion brand since 2001, led by Lucy Henry Hicks. DISSH also focuses on natural fibres but offers a more minimalist aesthetic when compared to Camilla. Both brands focus on female empowerment and sustainability. Camilla comes in at a higher price point, but DISSH is definitely a more affordable brand worth mentioning as a Camilla alternative.

10. Viktoria & Woods

Viktoria & Woods is an Australian designer womenswear brand, established in 2004 by Margie Woods and known for its modern, effortless, and sustainable clothing. They are more understated when compared to Camilla, as the brand creates a versatile range of contemporary wardrobe staples. Unlike Camilla, you can expect to find a broader range of premium denim, tailoring, outerwear, lounge and occasion wear. Both brands, however, have a strong commitment to using sustainable textiles and manufacturing methods. Most of Camilla's designs are manufactured in India, whereas Viktoria & Woods manufactures most of its designs in Australia. Their designs feature refined silhouettes with modern details, blending timeless pieces with a contemporary aesthetic.

Shona Joy, although not entirely the same as Camilla, can also be considered a Camilla alternative by virtue of the artisanal craftsmanship and modern-day aesthetics of the brand. A Woman designer founded both brands and both create gorgeous dresses, skirts and pants with intricate detailing, modern hues and unique silhouettes. Another similarity both brands share is their approach to sustainability.

Hannah Artwear is an Australian womenswear brand that, like Camilla, creates "wearable art." Both brands combine artistic designs with artisanal craftsmanship. Hannah Artwear focuses more on hand block printing and embroidery, whereas Camilla’s artwork is travel-inspired and crystal-embellished. Both brands create pieces that are inspired by travel, art, and nature.
